こんにちは! Recently, this 'favorite song' has been on repeat lately. Freshly released around a couple of weeks ago, this is Fumino-san's first single. There is this cathartic feeling when listening to J-pop rock music, so I would 10/10 recommend getting into J-pop rock if you haven't listened to it before. I could understand 50-60 percent of the lyrics, and if I were to take a guess at what they mean, I would say that it is about a girl openly and honestly expressing her feelings regarding her current love interest/crush, and how she is feeling a little serious about how she feels. またね : )

Post No.2

This weekend, I watched the latest season of Record of Ragnarok, an anime about the fate of humanity, decided based on battles against humanity's greatest champions versus the gods. It's been a while since I last watched anime, but like with most of Japenese anime I watch, this was another thrilling, emotionally-evoking watch with a touching story to deliver. Linguistically, I re-engaged in a lot of understanding of Japanese rhythm and intonation in converstaions. Something I noticed in the episode was the respectful gestures and nature of mannerisms for those who are more respected based on age, status, and power. It was also so cool to able to read some of the hiragana texts present in the anime :))

こんにちは 〜〜

My initial curiosity to learn Japanese started when I was little, albeit very cliché, when I was introduced to anime. However, I would say that just by watching and listening to tons of animations quickly developed my ability to understand and familiarize myself with the beautifully expressive language. Some of my favorite animes til this day include Spy x Family, Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, Inuyasha, Parasyte, and Doraemon. I also love to listen to JPop and occasionally enjoy classic Japanese dramas and movies. 

As someone who holds a deep appreciation and fascination for East Asian languages and their unique cultures, I have become determined to master all three. I speak fluent Korean and have been studying Chinese for about 6 years. Now, I take my chance to enter the realm of Japanese fluency. What pushed me to eventually take on this course was due to my rather depressing progress on Duolingo as I prepared to travel to Hokkaido. And as someone who frequently travels to Japan, I want to be able to speak conversationally. I am especially fond of Japanese as it is one of the most expressive languages, in my opinion, never failing to give me the flutters when speaking it.
